Dogtails and Beer, A Pawsitively Great Fundraiser in Liberty Village

Neighbourhood | Written on August 18, 2015

There’s no denying that, in Liberty Village, we are a community of animal-lovers. It’s another reason that our neighbourhood is so great! And this certainly isn’t the first time that we’ve written about our love for pets—check out our dog park blog here. This time around, Liberty Village is pairing its love for animals with a charitable cause. Dogtails and Beer is a dog-friendly, charity cocktail party in support of the Beagle Freedom Project.

For persons unfamiliar with the Freedom Project, it is a charity that aims to rescue beagles that are used for research and experimentation and provide them with loving homes. A very worthy cause, undoubtedly, that pet-owners and non-pet owners alike can relate to and get behind.

On Thursday, August 20 from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm, 60 Atlantic Avenue will welcome animal lovers, wine and beer drinkers and anyone else who is interested, for a fundraiser with a difference.

Attendees won’t be disappointed. Event organizers, the Brown Hound Pet Treat Company and Big Rock Brewery, have come up with some very cool and creative ways to highlight the event’s theme. From non-alcoholic beverages for pooches to special doggie treats and goodies from Golden Apple Confectionary, there’ll be lots of fun and deliciousness to go around. The $20 ticket price includes a signature “dogtail,” a doggie treat, a Golden Apple Confectionary item and more. This really is a unique event for a really great cause.

Entry for your pooch is free though event organizers ask that attendees who intend to bring their pets please let them know in advance since there is a limit on the number of dogs that are allowed. You can do so by reserving your ticket online here.

Mark your calendars because this Thursday, August 20 is an opportunity to have a really great time in Liberty Village for an equally great cause.
