Fashion First in Liberty Village

Neighbourhood | Written on August 28, 2015

In our neighbourhood, the world of fashion is one that doesn’t follow convention. Like all things Liberty Village, here, we make our own rules. We march to the beat of our own drum. Enter: the Fashiontruck. Yes, you read correctly. A fashion truck! This self-described “boutique on wheels” offers lots of chic styles, bohemian fashion and girly glamour. The set-up is also pretty neat. You will undoubtedly be impressed to see how much space there is for clothing and to browse in the Fashiontruck, and, in case you were wondering, there’s also a changing room.

Consider it a labour of love for co-founder of Fashiontruck Canada, Emily Dobbie. She started this mobile fashion store in 2014 and like any great clothing store (and also thanks to her co-founder, friend and Fashiontruck stylist and buyer, Ashley Barber), Eve, as the fashion truck is affectionately named, carries a diverse selection. There’s also always someone on hand to offer individual advice for styles to suit personal tastes and for cool looks. This is a fashion store both like and unlike any other. There’s everything that you would want from your run-of-the-mill clothing store but this is one store that’s on the go. Get it now because you may not have another chance. The store may have moved. Literally.

The Fashiontruck is on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram so follow them for updates on where they’ll be and when. As an additional bit of really great information about the fashion truck, they’re often in Liberty Village (behind Balzac’s Coffee) or within close, commuting distance to our neighbourhood. Step into the season’s hot trends and cool looks with this novel fashion concept. You’ll be thrilled you did.

Here’s a bit of trivia for you. Did you know that “Emily” of Fashiontruck Canada is also “Emily” of one of Liberty Village’s most loved clothing stores, Vocado? There’s no denying that fashion is her passion and Liberty Village is reaping many of the benefits of her savvy style and business acumen.

And since we’re on the subject, Vocado has a fresh, new look, and a new name! Vocado, featured in this Liberty Central By The Lake Two blog, has upped the ante with a new website and a remake of its flagship store in Liberty Village. Vocado is now V.O.C.! Not that you needed even more reason to love this dynamic store but the cooler, cleaner colours and look of it site and revamped store make them worth a visit to experience all the awesome things that they have in store. V.O.C. is located at Unit 121, 171 East Liberty Street in Toronto.

We embrace the extraordinary in Liberty Village and Fashiontruck Canada and V.O.C. are two fashion-forward spots that we’re celebrating! Well done, Emily and Ashley!
