Liberty Village, A Foodie Update

Neighbourhood | Written on December 16, 2015

This year has seen lots of great things happen in Liberty Village. From the opening of new restaurants to a host of charity events to local, community get-togethers, there has seldom been a week that didn’t provide an opportunity for us in Liberty Village to get involved, give back or just go out and enjoy our incredible neighbourhood and our city.

We were sorry to recently learn that Bar Vespa in Liberty Village will be closing their doors on December 18. They have provided incredible Italian cuisine, a phenomenal atmosphere and stellar service to Liberty Village’s residents and visitors for several years.

In Liberty Village, where one door closes, several more open. Bugigattoli Kitchen recently opened in Liberty Village and it is already generating a lot of buzz. Our suspicion is that it has a lot to do with their combination of modern Italian charm, great food and friendly ambience. The 18-seater restaurant located at 54 Fraser Avenue is self-described as “off the beaten path in Liberty Village”. That certainly hasn’t stopped it from being busy, busy, busy since it opened. The brick façade and simple restaurant layout are a perfect mix of Liberty Village and present-day Italy. And it doesn’t hurt that their food is pretty incredible!

Bugigattoli’s is open for breakfast, lunch, take-out, and dine-in service (if you can manage to reserve a table at this great Italian eatery). They also offer an array of pastries that are baked fresh every day. And the staples of Italian cuisine? Of course, you’ll be able to enjoy incredible pizzas and pastas at Bugigattoli Kitchen. Their mouth-watering antipasti, soups and salads are the perfect way to start any meal you enjoy with them and they’re also perfect on their own if your inkling is for a lighter meal. You can view Bugigattoli’s full menu on their website, here.

There is a definite authenticity about the food that you enjoy at Bugigattoli Kitchen. It is homely, fresh and simply delicious. Be sure to visit them soon.
