Brazen Head Irish Pub mixes the style of Liberty Village with the charm of authentic Irish pubs

Liberty Village Does Winterlicious

Neighbourhood | Written on February 3, 2015

Winterlicious is officially among us and we cannot wait to enjoy delectable 3-course meals from some of our favourite restaurants in the neighbourhood. We have to say we’re pretty lucky here in Liberty Village because we have some of the top spots in the city to lunch or do dinner for the event. We’ve compiled a list of all the eateries that are serving up delicious fare this winter and included some of the dishes we’re most looking forward to tasting.

Bar Vespa

An exemplary concept of what Liberty Village is at its heart. As a former boiler room, the interior features exposed red brick walls giving it an industrial and nostalgic feel. This sophisticated bistro caters to the neighbourhood’s after hours crowd. However, if you’re a fan of Italian food (and who isn’t) we recommend you take a visit during Winterlicous, regardless of the time.

Our recommendation: The Lasagna soup and Walnut Gorgonzola Cheesecake with fig jam are both twists on old classics.

Mildred’s Temple Kitchen

It’s no secret, we’re big fans of MTK. They’ve recently had their scones named one of Toronto’s best and we also think they serve one of the best Winterlicious menus in the city. Watch the trains go by (without having to hear them) as you enjoy your three-course meal at this gorgeous restaurant.

Our recommendation: The 5 Spice Smoked Squash is a myriad of flavours in every bite and we’re really digging the MTK Cookies to Go for when you’ve got to head back to the office after a long lunch.

Brazen Head Irish Pub

You can’t miss what has now become this staple restaurant in the neighbourhood. It’s in the middle of Liberty Village with one of the best rooftop patios we’ve dined on with flag proudly waving. Order a pint of Guinness with your meal and you’ll be sure to have as authentic of an Irish experience as possible in Toronto.

Our recommendation: Steam Whistle Cheddar Dip if you’re wanting to try a brew through food and the Pan Fried Haddock for a nice, light lunch.
