Dinner and a Movie
There’s something to be said about this classic Valentine’s Day option. Sometimes, love means simply spending time with someone you care about, doing something that you both enjoy. Take time this Valentine’s Day to enjoy a wonderful meal in Liberty Village, at one of the excellent restaurants to in our neighbourhood.

  • For Italian cuisine, the newly opened, Bugigattolo Kitchen on Fraser Avenue offers great, authentic dishes, superb service and an inviting atmosphere. Seats are limited so book soon to enjoy a meal here. Caffino Ristorante on King Street West also offers exquisite Italian food and a very charming ambiance. Couples and singles alike will definitely find lots to love about this neighbourhood favourite.
  • Liberty Village also offers great options for Japanese cuisine. KoJa Restaurant on Atlantic Avenue and Raaw Japanese Cuisine on East Liberty Street are both deeeeelicious and would be great for a relaxing meal on February 14.
  • Mildred’s Temple Kitchen on Hanna Avenue and Thai Room on East Liberty Street will provide you with fantastic food, great service and leave you, and your dinner partner, with happy stomachs and warm hearts.

Once you’ve enjoyed that great meal in our neighbourhood, take a 20-minute trip to the Scotiabank Theatre on Richmond Street West to enjoy a good movie. There are several highly anticipated films opening this weekend and some really good ones that are already showing that would be certainly prove to be enjoyable for long time and new couples or, friends heading out this Sunday.

If you’re hoping to do something a little out of the ordinary this Valentine’s Day weekend, try couples skating. DJ Skate Night continues this Saturday at the Natrel Rink, 10 minutes from Liberty Village. This weekend, the well-known, DJ Trambo will be spinning Latin music that offer lots of opportunities to shake your hips while you’re showing off your skills on the ice. ¡Ay, caramba!

This weekend is also the NBA All-Star weekend in Toronto. There are a host of events taking place, including a Comedy Jam, an after-party by Kevin Hart at Roy Thomson Hall and a host of other parties and activities and, you don’t need to be a basketball fan to be able to enjoy them. From comedy to sports to dancing, there is definitely something for everyone to love here, regardless of your relationship status.

The Gifts
For a little something “sweet” this Valentine’s Day weekend, head to For the Love of Cake or The Golden Apple Confectionary. Their decadent menu and custom items won’t disappoint.

Another great idea would be to treat that special someone to a bit of pampering in Liberty Village at X-Nail & Spa Salon, B Suite, Cures Studio or The Beauty Room. Cures and The Beauty Room also offer certificates and packages that would make great Valentine’s Day gifts.

You’ll never go wrong with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s Day. Poppies Plant of Joy, Suzanne Gardner Flowers and Jackie O are three great options in the area to purchase flowers for someone (or yourself) this weekend.

Make this Valentine’s Day weekend in Liberty Village your own with any one or combination of these suggestions. Whatever you choose to do, we hope that you’ll enjoy it to the fullest with someone you love.
