Movie Night in Liberty Village ParkFun | Written on June 15, 2016
Lights! Camera! Action! If ever there were a sign of summer, for us, movies outdoors in Liberty Village Park is certainly it! The Liberty Village Resident’s Association works tirelessly to ensure that, with all that Liberty Village has to offer – a great location, incredible shops and amenities and a distinct energy and character – there are still spaces for us to come together, as neighbours, friends and colleagues and to meet with each other and to enjoy (at little to no cost) the incredible community that is Liberty Village.
Dust off that folding lawn chair. Grab a few blankets from the closet. Pack that cooler with a few drinks and prepare to head to the Liberty Village Park because every month this summer, beginning on Friday, June 24, there will be movies in Liberty Village Park. For another incredible summer, Liberty Village residents are invited to watch three epic films on a big screen with incredible soundtracks to back them completely free of charge in the Liberty Village Park. And because this event is organized by the fun folks at the Liberty Village Residents Association, there’ll also be giveaways, an all-around awesome atmosphere and, of course, the opportunity to socialize and meet fellow Villagers. Have we mentioned that the movie line-up is also pretty epic?
This summer’s “Movies in the Park” features three very fun, and, might we add, very worthy films! First up, on June 24 residents will be engrossed, amused and very entertained by the box office hit, Guardians of the Galaxy. If you never got around to seeing this film while it was in cinemas, this is your chance to enjoy it on the big screen! It really is the kind of movie that’s so much more enjoyable with surround sound and projected on a monster screen! If you have already seen it, you know just how awesome it is and definitely worthy of being seen again on a large screen. Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, James Gunn and Vin Diesel. We promise you, you won’t want to miss this! Movie Night on June 24 will run from 8:30 pm until 11:00 pm.
And one giant film can only rightly be followed by another! Next, on Friday, July 22 our “Summer of Action” in Liberty Village Park continues with none other than Jurassic World! There really is no better way to enjoy dinosaurs (and the film’s star, Chris Pratt) than outdoors, on a big screen with equally enthralled friends and neighbours. This will be so much cooler than watching on the TV in your condo. We guarantee it. And with the booming sounds emanating through the park, it will also be a whole lot more memorable. In July, Movie Night in Liberty Village Park is scheduled to run from 8:30 pm to 11:00pm.
There could be no better way to finish out a “Summer of Action” than with the monster hit that is Star Wars. Yup. Star Wars! We know what you’re thinking, the Liberty Village Residents Association really does rock. We’re thinking the same thing! On Friday, August 26, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be shown, in all its awesome glory at the Liberty Village Park. You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to appreciate this movie. It really is just fun and funny and wholly entertaining. And, as on prior Movie Nights in Liberty Village Park, there will be giveaways and the incredible vibe that comes from group activities in our neighbourhood. Star Wars: The Force Awakens features an incredible cast that includes Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac. Don’t be late for the last Movie Night of the summer. It gets underway at 8:00pm and it is slated to end at 11:00pm.
We live in a really great neighbourhood and events like Movie Night remind us how easy it is to connect with our neighbours and how much there is to love about Liberty Village. We’re sincerely looking forward to three awesome films in the Liberty Village Park this summer, thanks in no small part to the event’s sponsors, Beanfield Metroconnect and Zipcar and, of course, to the Liberty Village Residents Association. Connect with your neighbours at Liberty Central By The Lake and people living throughout Liberty Village on the Liberty Village Residents Association Facebook page.
