Sip, taste and shop at the Taste of Toronto Food Festival this SummerFun | Written on March 24, 2015
Living in Liberty Village, you’ll be well positioned within the city to access some of Toronto’s best events and festivals.
As shown in an earlier Exhibition Place post, there’s a multitude of events happening right within the Princess Gates. You can also seeing some great festivals happening regularly throughout the summer at Fort York, just walking distance from the neighbourhood. (There are also tours given year-round of the premises and the museums). This summer for the second year in a row, Taste of Toronto Food Festival will call this home again. Set to feature many of the city’s top restaurants, chefs and food producers over the course of four days from June 2-5, the festival is one of the biggest and best of its kind in the city.
Emulating the hours of a restaurant with lunch and dinner hours, the event is made up of six half-day sessions lasting from 4-5 hours each. You will also be able to browse artisan stalls and even participate some of the more hands-on activities like cookery masterclasses or a special tasting room. There will also be a music stage with live entertainment to enjoy while experiencing the wide range of food that’s featured.
Engage with top chefs from renowned restaurants such as Momofuku Milk Bar can you mention any others? and sample or purchase goods from specialty shops like Upper Canada cheese company and Green House Juice Co. Taste of Toronto is an ideal way to spend a warm summer afternoon (fingers crossed), whilst sipping on wine samples and getting a taste of the city’s finest restaurants all in the historical setting of Fort York.
