Talk about flower power! A colourful and fragrant community favourite is back after a year exploring the East End. The Toronto Flower Market returns to the Queen West neighbourhood beginning Sunday, May 7 and, you could say that we’re blooming with excitement! It’s an event that’s not only informative and great to attend but, put quite simply, it’s really beautiful to see. Welcome back, Toronto Flower Market!
There is a certain cheerfulness that comes from seeing an array of plants and flowers artfully displayed and available for sale to anyone wanting to take them home, or to offer someone they know the positive energy that they effect. They evoke thoughts of bright summer days and warm, breezy afternoons and, after recent weeks of snowy, icy weather, they are beautiful reminders of days to come when us Liberty Village residents will be out on our balconies and restaurant patios enjoying great weather and our great, vibrant neighbourhood. Yup! We’re all for the power of the flower!
The Toronto Flower Market runs monthly from May to October, 2016, with one market scheduled each month. Starting at 10am on May 7, Shaw Park at CAMH, (located at 1001 Queen Street West) will spring to life with Ontario grown flowers and plants, provided by local florists. Liberty Village, if you want to learn more about locally grown flowers, are looking for great plants for your living space or want to treat someone to a beautiful gift, you should definitely plan a few visits to this great event! Also, with Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8, the timing of the start of The Toronto Flower Market couldn’t be more perfect! Treat yourself and the mothers in your life to some beautiful flowers.
There are lots of great vendors on the 2016 roster for The Toronto Flower Market, including:
Blush & Bloom
Buds Cutting Garden
Garden in the City
La Primavera Farms
Pioneer Flower Farm
The Pop Stand
Van Geest Bros

Each month, visitors can browse stalls for a selection of fresh cut flowers and potted plants and because the event runs for six months and the flowers are locally sourced, you can also expect to find varieties based on monthly and seasonal availability. And, as an added bonus, Toronto’s Pop Stand will be on site to provide delicious handcrafted ice pops and other treats while you browse. Yes, please!

Saturday, May 7th
Saturday, June 11th
