Toronto is for Romantics: Valentine’s Day Activities for every typeFun | Written on February 10, 2015
Toronto is a city made for romance. The views, the cozy bars and the winter weather all make for an ideal cuddle fest for city dwellers. Whether you’re a full-blown romantic and go all out on a lavish dinner for two or want something a little more inconspicuous, there’s something to do for every personality and interest. We’ve got every type covered for a sure-fire way to make this Valentine’s Day one for the books.
For the ones who want a mini getaway: Visit the Island
Did you know you can take a stroll on the Toronto island in the midst of winter? Ferry services run all year long for those who can’t get enough of long walks on the beach. Check out Centreville in its closed state. It feels a little like a carnival ghost town, which we think is kind of romantic. If you want something a little more classic, a walk down the cottage-lined streets will be sure to warm your heart.

For the traditionalists: A super-romantic dinner at an equally romantic restaurant
Caffino in Liberty Village is the ideal spot for a Valentine’s Date that looks and feels like it’s straight out of a movie. Sit at one of the candle-lit tables and order spaghetti from their classic Italian menu (insert Lady and the Tramp joke here) while reminiscing over nostalgic moments.
For the adventurous: Archery classes at Casa Loma
What better setting to channel your inner Katniss Everdeen than a castle in the middle of the city? Casa Loma offers couple’s archery classes around this romantic time of the year. The beautiful architecture can be distracting so just make sure you’re focusing on the target while aiming!
For the competitive: A few friendly rounds at a Board Game Café
With the popularity of board game cafes (and bars) popping up around the city like Snakes and Lagers or Castle Board Game Café, it’s the best way to engage in some friendly competition with a game of Life. (It’s also a great way to find out more about your date…how many kids do they want, what are their career aspirations since these are all things that pop up in the famous board game)? Sip on a latte or a craft beer while the friendly rivalry continues.
